Our Mission

NJP Action organizes Black Minnesotans to protect and provide for our communities at the ballot box and beyond. We’re building real power right here at home,  in elections shaping the future of Minneapolis. We support candidates who prioritize the material needs of Black low-income and no-income Minnesotans. We uplift leaders who are innovative, collaborative, and dedicated to co-governance—sharing power with the communities they serve. We believe that knowledge is power. Through education and outreach, we make sure voters understand  how elections work – from caucuses to city conventions – and how the mayor, city council, and public forums shape policy and representation. Our goal is to build an informed and empowered electorate that drives meaningful change.
